Juan Vicente Rodríguez Bonachea
b. Havana, 1957 - 2012

Rodríguez Bonachea is a painter, illustrator and engraver who graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas San Alejandro, Havana, in 1976. He taught design and drawing at the Instituto Politécnico de Diseño Industrial. He has illustrated more than ten books.

His paintings often seem to be of another world, containing a sense of magic which completely captures the viewer's gaze.

Exhibitions: He has had solo exhibitions both in Cuba and abroad, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Switzerland.

Awards include: NOMA competition, Tokyo; magazine Plural de México.
